How do I start using Expona?

Create your account, wait for approval if required, then complete your profile. Exhibitors can add artworks and apply to events, while curators can add locations, create events, and review submissions.

How do curator and exhibitor connections work?

Either side can send a connection request. The other side must approve it before the connection becomes active. Requests can also be rejected, and only accepted connections unlock messaging and connected-event flows.

Can I publish artworks publicly?

Yes. Exhibitors can publish artworks to the public artworks page, but only when those artworks are marked as finished. Artworks currently participating in a live event are not shown publicly.

How do event applications work?

Exhibitors can apply to eligible events using available artworks. Curators review each submitted artwork individually and can approve or reject them. Payment steps appear when an event requires a submission fee.

Where do I see requests, approvals, and updates?

Use the Notifications page to track connection requests, event activity, payment confirmations, and artwork decisions. The Messages page is used for direct conversation after a connection is accepted.

What are badges used for?

Badges let curators and exhibitors recognize each other after connecting. They act as lightweight profile endorsements and appear in the dedicated Badges page and on connected profile views.

Can I export artworks as a catalog?

Yes. Exhibitors can create PDF catalog exports and choose exactly which artworks to include. Saved exports remain available from the reports area for later access.

Why can’t I see some events or actions?

Some actions depend on role, connection status, approval state, artwork status, or event timing. For example, exhibitors only see connected curators’ published upcoming events, and some publishing options require finished artworks.
